JUST IN: Turkey's Erdogan says attack on economy no different from attack on flag

"The attack on our economy has absolutely no difference from attacks on our call to prayer and our flag,” he said referring to the recent Turkish currency crisis, triggered by US economic pressure.

Turkey to complain to WTO about US’ increase in steel & aluminum tariffs

Ruhsar Pekcan, Turkish Minister of Trade, said that she will complain to the World Trade Organization (WTO) of the US raising the import tariffs on steel and aluminum, and has asked the US to accept WTO’s arbitration.

The US President Trump announced on August 10th to hike the tariffs on Turkish steel and aluminum products to 50% and 20% respectively, and the White House spokesperson stated that the move was based on national security interests instead of aiming at the US pastor’s house arrest.
