Algeria has refused to open its airspace to the French Rafale for operations against Niger. The request was officially submitted by Paris, while after receiving the "NO", a second request was submitted to Morocco with the answer being positive.

Now, if it is in working order is another question. If France is going to use Dassault Rafale they can use Storm Shadow and AASM (French precision-guided munition). The basic version features a 250-kilogram (550 lb) bomb plus hybrid inertial navigation system (INS) / Global Positioning System (GPS) guidance. Other variants add infrared homing or laser guidance to increase accuracy; there are also versions with 125-kilogram (276 lb), 500-kilogram (1,100 lb) or 1,000-kilogram (2,200 lb) bomb bodies.

Niger needs to control the sky or they are going to get bombed into oblivion like Gaddafi. In Libya, Gaddafi lost because he did not control the sky.

I read every word of it and found it to be a very accurate recount of
what happened starting in 2011 to now...
the shifting alliances, the evolution of opportunism between the Rojavan Kurds thieves and the US thieves,
and how we got to where we are now and why this cataclysmic face off between Assad/SAA
and the traitors and occupiers was always going to happen. I think we are watching it unfold.
I wonder whether Turkey will be instructed or allowed to do what it always wanted to do: take on the SDF/Kurds in NE Syria.
Either the US is going to capitulate and leave....
or we are watching the opening act of a real war to MAKE them leave
and will include the alliance of Iran backed militias and the SAA... just like it always was.
This whole thing has been smoldering and may ignite very soon.

For the sixth day in a row, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are seeking to suppress a rebellion from Arab tribal fighters within its ranks in the Deir Ezzor countryside in northeast Syria, Syrian state media SANA reported on 1 September.

Clashes began after SDF leader Mazloum Abdi invited Deir Ezzor Military Council leader Ahmed Al-Khabil, known as Abu Khawla, to a meeting and detained him on 27 August.

The SDF is dominated by Kurdish fighters and commanders from the People’s Protection Units (YPG), a Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) offshoot that occupies areas of eastern Syria in cooperation with the US military. However, the group includes some Arab fighters from areas under its control east of the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor.

In response to Abu Khawla’s arrest, the Deir Ezzor Military Council broke away from the SDF and issued a call to “liberate Deir Ezzor from Kurdish occupation.”

According to Syrian journalist Ibrahim Muhammad, most people in Deir Ezzor “categorically refuse to be ruled by the Kurds of Mount Qandil who came from northern Iraq,” referring to the PKK.

On 31 August, members of Abu Khawla’s tribe, the Akeidat, declared a general mobilization to attack SDF forces. Tribal members gathered at the house of Sheikh Ibrahim al-Hafel in the town of Dhiban, east of Deir Ezzor, to set up the “tent of war” to fight the SDF.

Local sources told SANA that the violent clashes caused the death of dozens, while others were injured or taken hostage in the towns of Dhiban, Al-Izba, Al-Busaira, Al-Tayana, and Jadid Bakara.

Arab fighters expelled SDF forces from the towns of Al-Kashkiyah, Abu Hammam, and Gharanij, home to the Shaitat tribe and the site of the infamous ISIS massacre of 700 of its members in August 2014.

The SDF has accused the Syrian government of stoking the conflict. “These groups began mobilizing to attack our forces positioned in the eastern countryside. Yesterday evening, supplies were sent from security agencies affiliated with the Syrian regime in an attempt to cause civil strife that serves their agendas of pressure and threatening the notables of the region,” an SDF statement read. 

According to Charles Lister, an analyst funded by Qatar who advocates on behalf of Al-Qaeda affiliated groups, “Should the SDF lose control of this strategically vital region, the U.S. military mission in northeastern Syria will be squeezed into an unsustainably tight corner."

When the US-backed war on Syria erupted in 2011, the YPG took control of Kurdish-majority areas in northeast Syria and sought to defend them from US-backed Islamic militants fighting the Syrian government, including the Free Syrian Army (FSA), Nusra Front, and later ISIS.  

However, US policy later pivoted away from support to ISIS. The US military partnered with the YPG in 2015 to form the SDF. Using American airpower and Kurdish ground forces, the US and SDF moved beyond Kurdish-majority areas in Hasakah Governorate. They conquered Arab-majority areas controlled by ISIS, including Raqqa and the parts of Deir Ezzor governorate east of the Euphrates River. This allowed the US and SDF to occupy Syria’s major oil and wheat-producing regions.

At the same time, the Syrian army and its Russian allies defeated ISIS in Deir Ezzor, west of the river, returning Syrian sovereignty to cities including Deir Ezzor and Al-Mayadeen.

The SDF then incorporated the Deir Ezzor Military Council, which included former elements of the FSA, Nusra, and ISIS, including from the Akeidat and Shaitat tribes, into its ranks.

The Syrian army and its Russian and Iranian allies are seeking to expel US occupation forces from northeast Syria and end the Kurdish separatist project led by the SDF. US and SDF forces continue to loot Syrian oil, which the Syrian state needs to rebuild Syria and revive its economy in the face of US economic sanctions. The rising cost of living and rampant inflation in Syria have plunged millions further into poverty.

This has sparked protests in recent weeks in the Druze-majority Suwayda Governorate in southern Syria. As Damascus-based journalist Vanessa Beeley details, the US is seeking to exploit the despair caused by the economic crisis. US intelligence is funding activists in Suwayda to recreate events of 2011 and establish a separatist project in Suwayda to accompany the Kurdish separatist project in the northeast.

As Politico reports, China, Turkey and India are actively refining oil from Russia
into gasoline and kerosene, and selling the fuel to other countries.
In May 2023, India's imports of Russian oil reached 69 million barrels
- nearly ten times more than the same period in 2021.

At the same time, India's fuel exports to Europe have risen sharply.
In June, India supplied the EU with 5.1 million barrels of diesel and 3.2 million barrels of jet fuel.
In June 2021, these figures were 1.68 million barrels and 0.51 million barrels, respectively.

Ukraine calls for supporting a ban on the supply of all refined products to the G7 countries
when they were produced using Russian oil.
But this idea is unlikely to find much support, the publication notes.
Experts believe that the purchase of oil products from third countries with Russian origin
is part of the West's strategy to maintain stable prices.
