Eletrobras (state electricity producer)
Banco de Brasil (state lender)
"Without [selling] those," warned Zeina Latif, chief economist at brokerage XP Investimentos, “talking about privatizations gets complicated”.
Investors are far less interested in the smaller, less profitable companies.
►Guedes other plans include a radical simplification of Brazil’s convoluted tax system.
►The much-lauded reform to introduce a private pension system is already facing problems; retirees complaining payments are too small.
The Challenge
The challenge will be to convince Bolsonaro, who analysts believe is a nationalist at heart and has already ruled out the full sales of important state-owned companies.

Mr Guedes would retain one “powerful weapon” that he could use to impose his will: the right to resign.
“He knows that the minute he resigns, markets will tank big time,”
The hope will be that he fares better than Pinochet’s Chicago boys.
While they shrank the fiscal deficit, liberalized trade and privatized state companies,
they established a fixed exchange rate that went bust after the region’s debt crisis of 1982.

Jair Bolsonaro’s Chief economic adviser, banker Paulo Guedes, was educated in the US.
Guedes support the “globalists” by increasing import-export, which will surely support the rich and corrupt - reducing import tariffs and creating international bilateral agreements.
Guedes plans reduced interest rates, which supposedly is a boost for the economy, will increase the profits of the big corporations, and make inflation rise.
I guess that Jair Bolsonaro didn’t promise to raise taxes but Guedes is planning greater tax revenues (or higher taxes)...
Guedes has promised to cancel the fiscal deficit (it will reach 160/180 billion reais in 2018) within a year.
By selling Brazil by the pound; his aggressive plan of privatisation could bring about 800 billion reais to the State, leaving the Brazilian population in the claws of the investment bankers.
Guedes will introduce a new contributory system, so the (slave) labourers pay more to the pension funds, while cutting “gold pensions”, which will lead to a lower burden on businesses.
This sounds very similar to the strategy that World Bank and IMF impose on “developing” countries to strangle their economies, while the people suffer.
