Dozens of casualties have been reported so far. Death toll could rise the next minutes.
An entire port was damaged, nearby buildings semi-collapsed, glass shattered all over beirut, cars destroyed within miles.

I think it could be fireworks. In the videos already posted you can see some smoke in the air already before the big explosion. Then I found this video. It looks like from possibly before the big explosion. It sounds and looks like lots of little bangs going off, a little bit like fireworks or ammunition?

My gut tells me it was a missile storage site if it exploded by the heat wave no problem but if it was targeted or sabotaged Hezbollah has to hit back hard.

Definitely there was something on fire already. Reportedly the big one was secondary explosion.

Good find. You can see it clear there those are small flashes that are the tell-tale signs that it was something like ammo, just prior to the big explosion.

I think it must be fireworks. i think if it was ammo and/or bombs/weapons etc the damage would be a lot worse.

Lebanon Health minister just said that hundreds of Lebanese were injured in this massive blast in #Beirut today.
Reasons still unknown.
Number of dead not clear.
And the destruction in property and shops is enormous.

Would Israel be desperate enough to attack a aluminium powder shipment to Hezbollah? I don't see the point seeing as the weapons could be supplied via Syria or Iran just flies directly from Tehran to Beirut to deliver the weapons.
