The #JamalKhashoggi tragedy is shining a light on Saudi and UAE financial meddling in U.S.-Mideast policy analysis. I hope people connect this distortion to the poor quality of ISIS and Syria analysis in the media over the last several years. These aren’t unrelated issues.

• Before #Khashoggi’s visit, a diplomat at the Consulate left Turkey and travelled to Saudi Arabia. (Sabah reported today that it was Abdullah Almuzaini, Saudi Station Chief in Istanbul)
