How many protesters were there? Looks as if they outnumber the HK protests.

Anything in MSM? Here in Germany was near nothing.

The main reason for my wish to change this society is that so many human skills have no chance to come to fruition. Instead they are used in a really sick way so that people are maintaining their own suffering from wars, hunger and illness. But it can not be changed "top-down", only in some kind of "grassroots revolution" or better "evolution" where more and more people work together to get rid of TPTB (whoever that is).

No need for a "big event" but development. One of my ideas to reach it: Don't play "their" games - don't use "their" rules - don't think in the box of "their" paradigms.
It's more "refuse" than "resist" - without too much ideology. You don't need to know much about "what's going on behind the curtains", it's mainly to create your own rules together with like-minded people.

That is what I mean with "I'm on the side of the people".

Many protests in different locations. A few hundred thousand protesters if I would guess. Not a peep out of U.S. msm, and only slight mention of the jailed leaders in much EU msm from what I saw. UK coverage is quite decent though, decent coverage of whole situation including the very latest on how protests are developing and mention of it in the UK parliament too.

In UK there is Scotland who has their own large independence, anti unionist movement who voice a lot of support for Catalonia. So they will be keen to keep a tab on what's going on in Catalonia to see if they can take any ideas from it for their own movement. pirat

It's now going to be a big crisis on Catalonia. Protests will go on indefinitely at the outrageous decision to imprison their major political figures. What makes it worse for Madrid this time is you won't have just the pro independence supporters who will be upset as was the case before, but now some of those who didn't even have interest in independence will be mad too because the decision to jail is seen as heavy handed and destructive by most people.

(Football/Soccer) - La Liga has asked for El Clasico on 26 October to be moved from Barcelona's Nou Camp stadium to Real Madrid's Bernabeu over fears of civil unrest.

There have been days of protest in Barcelona after nine Catalan separatist leaders were jailed on Monday.

More protests are expected in the city on the day of the match.

La Liga made the request to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), citing "exceptional circumstances beyond our control".
