I'll tell you all more things to look out for since the US is spreading its poison crops to Europe.  

- soy (good thing you know this already)
- corn (90% of corn in the US is Monsanto bullshit)
- And check for ALL of these engineered sugar additives, which are likely a big culprit in the diabetes problem in this country:  high-fructose corn syrup, natural corn syrup, isolated fructose, maize (a native word for corn) syrup, glucose/fructose syrup and tapioca syrup (not from corn, but also fructose)

If you see Organic US products, they are better, but aren't always even safe.

Edited to add this:

Also stay away from flour in products if it isn't organic. Much of our wheat supply is sprayed with Roundup just before harvest in order for it to release its seed.

I think soon they will change legislative so it won't be possible to find out where exactly was food produced.

Moreover none of this helps to small, local farmers. Similary as in the web neutrality case, all of this is only in favor of large corporations.
