Guess it will take some weeks to start proper offensive. That's like prelimineary shelling that will intensify. They will allow Turks to withdraw before the offensive.

It's only a matter of time before they take back the entire country, this was always going to be the end result once Russia stepped in to help. They're not going to let another Libya happen again.

Post by UK AC on Sun Jul 29, 2018 4:12 am

Spoiler:

UK AC wrote:Fake news a democratic crisis, MPs warn

The UK faces a "democratic crisis" due to the spread of "pernicious views" and the manipulation of personal data, a parliamentary committee is set to warn.

In its first report it will suggest social media companies should face tighter regulation.

It also proposes measures to combat election interference.

The committee suggests:

1. Social media sites should be held responsible for 'harmful' content on their services

Companies such as Facebook and YouTube have repeatedly said they are just a "platform", rather than a "publisher". They have argued that they are not responsible for the content people post on their services.

This should establish "clear legal liability for the tech companies to act against harmful and illegal content on their platforms," the report said.

2. The rules on political campaigns should be made fit for the digital age

3. Technology companies should be taxed to fund education and regulation

4. Social networks should be audited

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-44967650

Point 1. sort of relates to a comment that Trinity on GLP made recently regarding Paypal's restrictions on GLP. He too made the argument that he believes GLP is not responsible for the content on its site and only the people who make the posts are responsible for their own individual content.

Zod wrote:It's all about pushing the official government standpoints down the throats of the citizens. Such services as YouTube or Facebook are not victims at all. The platforms are just tool of mass control. For years globalists allowed this companies to grow and prosper. Now, when they already attracted hundreds of millions of users they are about to decide what is truth, and thus can be shared, or what is not and has to be censored. With direct impact on hundreds of million of users there will be introduced "Ministry of Truth". Just in one example - the official standpoint is that the White Helmets are heroes. If proofs confirming that they are closely linked to the jihadist terrorists will be shared then they will be considered as "harmful" and censored. Those, who will share such informations, will be criminalized and punished.

Not single one dictatorship in the human's history had such powerfull tool to control masses and brainwash whole nations. Really concerning imho.

Zod wrote:
UK AC wrote:Sure, I get that the legislation would on the whole be very negative since the censoring of legitimate viewpoints and factual infos is almost certainly what would happen. But let's say these new rules are intended for all public communications, not just Facebook, Twitter, but public forums also. Then what about a forum where the owner is running a cointel operation and part of it includes encouraging others to push genuine extremist content on his website such as death threats, rape threats, other forms of violence, vile racism etc. Should that owner not be held legally responsible for doing this, or should he be allowed to get away with it and that aspect of the cointel op remains unhindered by him using reasoning that he isn't responsible for what others post on his website (even when he does not remove such genuine extremist content posted by others on the site).

Well, he won't be.
Spoiler:
It's a part of the whole scheme. Cointelpro is about working behind the "enemy lines". They infected conspiracy/truther community (intentionally). They push official govt. standpoints within this community, pretending that they are part of this community. And, at least but not last, they collect informations about "extremists". And it does not mean only about KKK supporters or Black Panther supporters or whatever. It means about people like you or me, who are not willing to take their bait. Who are interested and aware. Even if the whole Lockheed/Tavistock connection is pure bullshit, even if so, then it does not change anything because it works still the same way.

Part of the op doesn't just revolve around collecting infos on KKK supporters and other types, but also the agents actively encouraging that sort of behaviour from posters too (in a sly way of course), or at the very least turning a blind eye to that behaviour. So such a website owner certainly find himself in a pickle if the legislation were to ever come into effect and it extended to forum websites such as his, as well as twitter, facebook etc. There would be no place for him to hide from it. Already it was seen how he had to make changes to accommodate the GDPR, so I can absolutely see potential benefits of legislation if it's going to help disrupt activities of a cointel site or indeed neo-Nazi sites. (Of course I don't forget the disadvantages too of how such legislation can also be abused to censor certain useful infos).

Israeli Arab MP resigns over controversial 'nation state' law

An Israeli Arab politician has resigned in opposition to a controversial new law which declares Israel to be the nation state of the Jewish people.

Zouheir Bahloul, 67, branded parliament "racist" and "destructive" for passing the law, which also revokes the status of Arabic as an official language.

"[The law] removes the Arab population from the path of equality in Israel," he told Israeli TV network Reshet.

Theresa May’s attempt to bypass Brussels in Brexit talks fails as member states line up to back official EU position

Czech Republic latest to echo European Commission's negotiating line

British attempts to bypass the European Commission in Brexit talks by dealing directly with member states are failing, as national governments line up to back the official EU position.

The Czech Republic, a traditional British ally, was the latest to endorse the Brussels line on Friday, just hours after chief negotiator Michel Barnier ruled out the EU agreeing to the Chequers customs plan.

A prominent lawyer who helped defend the former Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic at his war crimes trial has been shot dead.

Dragoslav Ognjanovic, 57, was killed on Saturday evening outside his apartment building in the capital, Belgrade.

His 26-year-old son was also wounded in the shooting, the interior ministry said in a statement.

Mr Ognjanovic served on the legal team for Mr Milosevic during his trial at The Hague in the early 2000s.

Thousands of people have taken part in protests in cities across Russia to express their anger at government proposals to raise the pension age.

Demonstrators in the capital, Moscow, carried banners reading: "We want to live on our pensions, not die at work."

The government says it wants to raise the pension age from 60 to 65 for men, and from 55 to 63 for women, to help cope with a shrinking workforce.

But unions warn many people will not live long enough to claim a pension.

Russian men have a life expectancy of just 66, while for women it is 77, the World Health Organization says.

Some 12,000 people took to the streets of Moscow to protest at the controversial plans.

Robert Fisk: "I Traced Al-Qaeda Missile Casings In Syria Back To Their Original Sellers"

Finally, a journalist for a mainstream UK media outlet is methodically tracking weapons shipment serial numbers and English-language paperwork recovered from al-Qaeda groups in Syria, and he's literally showing up at arms factories and questioning arms dealers, including officials at the Saudi Embassy in London, asking: why are your weapons in the hands of terrorists?

It's just another piece of puzzle, and confirmation of Dilyana's work, that proves direct NATO/western participation in arming and supplying of terrorist groups in Syria and Middle East. Previous part of this story here:
